We've taken several of the more popular, unique, or limited quantity varieties and put them in a "You Pick It" sampler pack. Sometimes it can be hard to choose and this sampler will give the garlic lover more options. You can eat or plant these. Most of these varieties require coldUS/C

SilverskinA favorite softneck for braiding since the stems are thinner but strong. The bulbs wrappers are white and easy to clean. The cloves have skins which are often pinkish in color and can be tall and pointed. The flavor tends to be fairly spicy and hot. Long storage properties garlic has a complex and subtle flavor and high allicin content. It performs best in colder winter climates where it is most productive. It has classic teardrop shape with 4-6 fat cloves that are easy to peel. Pesticide free, Non-GMO grown in the US

KisklykPurple Stripe hardneck variety. Originated near Kishlyk, in southern region of Uzbekistan. Typical large bulbs of the Purple Stripe strain with the classic purple and white striped bulb skin. It has a complex flavor and a long shelf life for a Purple Stripe.8 to 10 cloves per bulb. Mid harvest. Stores 3 to 6 months. Produces scapes. Medium to hot flavor

Korean Mountain - A popular strain now with its classic and beautiful Purple Stripe character. From the Republic of Georgia. Good bulb size and very productive.

Lithuanian Purple - A beautiful new marbled purple stripe. This variety was grown for generations in rural Lithuania and came to us from a grandmother Danute. Most bulbs have 6 cloves and a deep purple coloration.

Nepal - very unusual garlic has 3-6 elongated cloves in two layers (the outer of which has plump cloves) on small to medium white bulbs with light purple streaking. It has broad, fibrous vertical leaves and produces multiple sets of bulbils on the stems. It’s sweet flavor builds to a fiery and lingering crescendo. “Lasun” is the Nepali word for garlic.

Pskem - Unique rich colored garlic. 2 to 4 large cloves set in a satin finish of purple. Becoming very popular. From Pskem River Valley, Uzbekistan

Leningrad - This porcelain hardneck can grow tall. Scapes can reach above 4 feet. 4-6 plump, easy to peel cloves which is typical for Porcelains. Skins can be white or have a purple tinge. Originated in Gatersleben, Germany. Likes cold weather and comes out with a spicy, bold, big flavor. Great storage.

Donostia Red - From a market in the city of Donostia, also known as San Sebastián, located in the Basque autonomous community of Spain.It has 8-12 crimson cloves on smallish bulbs with white wrappers. What the Creole garlic types lack in size they make up for in flavor (extra hot!). Storage is great! This type of garlic tends to grow larger in places with warmer winters and can be productive in cooler areas as well.

Elephant CloveA single, really large Elephant garlic clove that is mild in flavor. Great for garlic mashed potatoes, roasting, or adding to your soups and stews. Extremely easy to peel. Long shelf life. Prefers longer cooler growing season.

Inchelium Red - Our favorite among the softnecks. Its relatively spicy but prolonged taste won the 1990 garlic tasting test at Rodale Kitchens. Originally found growing in the Colville Indian Reservation, it is an "artichoke" softneck. The bulbs can be rather large, sometimes 3 inches across, and can have up to 20 cloves. It stores well. The flavor becomes more pronounced over time.

Amish Rocambole - This rocambole hardneck has been grown in Wisconsin for years.  Some says it has a lineage over 100 years old within the Amish Community and would consider it an heirloom garlic. The garlic bulbs tend to good sized with 7-9 larger easy to peel cloves. This is a strong flavored garlic with a spicy-hot kick that lasts. This garlic will have a serious punch when eaten raw. It is great for drying and making your own garlic powder, you will never purchase garlic powder from the store again. It's that good! Being a rocambole, the wrappers will be on the thin side and can easily flake off, contributing to their limited storage, only 3-6 months (it is know for the flavor, not the storage.)

Viola Francese - Colorful softneck artichoke variety from Provence, in the South of France . The whole plant takes on the violet hue. Very nice balanced flavor. Suitable for warmer climates, but will adapt to cooler weather. Easy to grown with a mid-season harvest.

    Your products have always been excellent but maybe the best time to review this current Sampler Pack is after the crop has come in next June/July. Thank you.
